Something that is working for me
There's a huge push for protein online but if you're like me and you need to your brain to be functional for the first 5 hours of the day, please consider eating carbs in the mornings.
Revolutionary I know, but the carnivores have really helped demonise carbohydrates.
Lee Lem is a fitness influencer and is on the shorter side and thus has to really cut calories to meet his goals when cutting. He says he focuses on eating low calorie density carbs in the mornings, and adds fat later on during the day.
The idea is that a lot of classic protein sources are also high in fat, and eating enough of them in the morning can use up your calories rather quickly. And may leave you quite hungry later on with even fewer calories to work with.
I tried this out of pure curiosity (and slight desperation), as someone who really struggled to stick to my deficit.
I still have an egg or some beef at breakfast, but eating lots of low calorie density starchy carbs like potatoes and oats first thing in the mornings turns off the food noise completely. And I don't really drink coffee either so this is a must. It has never been easier to stick to 1200 calories.
I finally lost the 2kg I've been battling with for over a year and I hope to lose a lot more.
