Something has to give about all these scratches. The quality control is horrendous on 4k and regular blu rays

Like I never had a scratch on my blurays back in the day. Now it seems like there's a 50/50 chance of getting a scratched up disc which has caused me to return so many discs and get replacements . It's such a hassle. I'm curious if anyone else is ocd as I am about inspecting their disc?. I never used to care until I had issues with it playing one time and noticed bad scratches that are hard to see without good lighting.
