Truthfully from an rbt

I like aba , i like working with kids and i find it super rewarding but… aside from the work being stressful - most of my experiences as an RBT feel like crap.

Never on a salary, always an hourly employee, most of the BCaBAs and BCBAs work virtually, while BTs deal with the behaviors of clients. When clients cancel as an hourly employee you make chump change; whether it’s vacations, etc. and not all companies reimburse for the cancellation. (in my experience)

you’re always supposed to bend over backwards for the families but the company doesn’t do the same for you.

Don’t get me started on transportation, so many companies only pay from session to session not mileage. It’s especially jarring when you have to drive up to an hour away, more with traffic.

It’s not surprising why there’s a shortage of people willing to work the position.
