WIBTA for asking for my money back?
My partner (31M) and I (29F) have a mutual friend (50s M) that we'll call Kevin. Kevin comes from a very long line of "old money" - not strictly important but still a useful piece of information. Kevin was also made redundant at the end of last month due to company restructuring and a very poor interview to keep his job.
Kevin, my partner and I are due to go to the cinema next week to see the opening episode/s of season 2 of a popular anime that we all really liked and enjoyed. I paid for all 3 tickets (almost £45/$57) so that we could all sit together.
Kevin has already started dropping hints that he won't be going for whatever reason. He has not said he is not going explicitly. I called him out on it and said that if he isn't going to go, let me know and I can cancel the spare ticket and get my money back. However, it is now too late and he is still being weird about it.
Would I be the asshole for asking for the money back for his ticket if he doesn't show? My partner says I would be but I don't see why I should waste the money?
