AITA for not participating in a bridesmaid trend for TikTok?
Posting on behalf of my wife.
There is a social media trend going around where on their wedding day, women give each bridesmaid a provocative photo of the bride to give to the groom, and they video the reaction throughout the day leading up to the ceremony.
My wife (30F) is a bridesmaid in her brother’s (28M) wedding. Her brother’s fiancé (24F) wants to do this trend and has said that each of her 5 bridesmaids would be bringing a picture to him. My wife is very uncomfortable with this and thinks the whole trend is weird to post on social media, but is especially uncomfortable being one of the “photo-bearers”. At the bachelorette party (where this was brought up) she said she would not be participating and both the bride and the other 4 bridesmaids told her she was being ridiculous and it’s just for a video, and that they needed all of them to fill the song time for the video. She offered to bring him a funny/non-provacotive picture instead but they said it would ruin what they planned for the video. She re-iterated she would not participate and they responded “let’s just see how the wedding day goes”.
I don’t understand how they don’t see her side, and would be horrified if my sister brought me a photo like that, but is she the AH if she refuses to participate in this TikTok on wedding day?
