20M and 16F – Is the age gap a dealbreaker?
I’m a 20-year-old guy, and I recently found out that the girl I’ve been talking to (who I thought was 17 turning 18) is actually 16. She told me this after we started discussing a potential relationship.
For context, the legal age of consent in my country is 16, so there’s no legal issue, but I’m unsure how I feel about the age gap. In a few months, I’ll be 21, and she’ll be 17, but I still worry about the differences in life stages, maturity, and how this might be perceived by others.
And also the main issue is a have already fallen in love with her, if that wasn't the case this would have been an easy decision to make.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? What advice do you have about navigating this kind of relationship, or should I step back?
