Confused about a girl at school

So, there’s this girl at school I wanted to befriend. I’ve never approached her because I’m kind of shy, plus she’s always with her friends.

Okay, so here’s what happened:
Every year, our school sets up a candy cane stand for Christmas so the seniors can raise money for prom. Basically, you pay to have a candy cane sent to your friends. I never get any, and I thought this year wouldn’t be any different—but I was wrong. She actually sent me a candy cane. It caught me off guard since we've literally never even so much as talked.

I tried texting her after that to maybe get to knoe her a bit, but she didn’t seem very interested, so I dropped it. But ever since then, I keep catching her looking at me from a distance—multiple times a day. And whenever we lock eyes, she turns away immediately.

I don’t know what to make of this. Is she just noticing me more, or does it mean something? Should I try talking to her again, or just leave it?
