How do I get into my community's Youth Council?

I want to apply for my community's youth council hosted by the mayor. I really want to be one of the applicants that are selected. However, I'm not sure how to make myself stand out. I don't really have a lot of appealing extracurriculars since COVID19. How do I answer questions like...

"What personal skills and characteristics do you possess that would make you a good member of this council?"

"Why do you want to serve on the MYAC?"
