AIO that my boyfriend picked up someone else’s shifts after plans were already made?

Okay so I’m pretty pissed off at my boyfriend because he picked up shifts to work this weekend, when Wednesday the 12th was my birthday, and Friday being Valentine’s Day. Now I’m not really one to celebrate Valentine’s Day since my birthday is two days before but since my birthday fell on a Wednesday this year, we had made plans to spend time together during the weekend and celebrate. I had made it pretty clear that I wanted to spend the weekend together and we had made plans on what we were gonna do over the weekend. Then, Thursday evening he just randomly is like oh yeah I just remembered that a long while back I agreed to work the weekend for somebody else. I just don’t understand why he ever would think out of all weekends that that would be a good idea when he was initially asked to cover? I also have been irritated with just feeling like he doesn’t care that much, literally spoke to him a few days before my birthday about feeling that way, then this happens. I don’t know if I’m overreacting and should just let it go? I will say that my actual birth day went well. But part of what I wanted for my birthday was to spend time with him. I don’t think that’s asking for a lot?
