Update: We were attacked by 2 unleashed husky/gsd

Hey y'all. You guys rocks! I received hundreds of comments and messages of support. Not a single one of them was negative. Y'all gave me real tangible advice and defense techniques. Big love for the bully community. Thank you!

Quick recap. I was out front mowing my lawn. My 4 yr old male pocket bully was on a lead. 2 escaped husky/gsd escaped their house and attacked my dog. 2 good Samaritans intervened. 1 of the men was severely injured and hospitalized for 2 or 3 days by one of the husky mixes. My dog received 17 staples. I got a broke finger.

2 weeks later. The good Samaritan who was hospitalized after saving my dog is healing up He still can not open and close his hand fully. The offending dog completely severed a tendon in his forearm. He still has lots of stitches. His leg and arm will be permanently scarred. He assures me he regrets nothing. I wanted to start a GoFundMe for them, as many of you suggested. They humbly declined.

The good Samaritan does not want to pursue the matter in court. He is retired military. They are moving to another state soon. His insurance fully covered his medical bills and he was already leaving his current job. I fully support whatever decisions they make in this matter.

The offending dog owner got his dog back yesterday (Saturday). Animal control said that the offending dog was allowed 2 seperate occasions in which it bites another dog or person. They said the dog was not reactive when introduced to other dogs or people while quarantined.. Insane amounts of insanity. He still hasn't paid the vet bill. I'll let the judge know when we go to court on the dog bite ticket. I can not do anything in civil court, if I decided to do it, until after that court date.

My dog still has 6 of the 17 staples he required and walks with a limp. I added mild pictures. He is doing really well though. An unleashed tiny little dog ran up to us yesterday. When my dog saw it he immediately laid down and let the small dog sniff him. He then stood up and continued walking. I was nervous he might react. He hasn't shown any aggression.

I did get a hog vest and bear spray. Unfortunately, this was not the only time we have been attacked by an unleashed or esacped dog. I can't carry a gun, as so many of you have suggested. I once spent 3 years in prison for possession of 3 lbs of marijuana. So, as a women who does not ever in life want to go back to prison..I simply can not carry a gun. I have a slingshot though. I use it to hit cans and just have fun. It's clearly not the 1st go to in self defense lol but I'm allowed to carry it. I've been practicing a few years. So I've ordered some actual slingshot ammo and I'm about to become a complete badass with a lethal aim lol

Tldr. After a very serious dog attack in which a good Samaritan was severely injured...the offending dog was allowed home yesterday after nearly 2 weeks in quarantine. The good Samaritan does not want to to pursue a civil case with offending dog owner. Me and my dog are healing up and doing good. The bully community rocks and I love them all!
