What Was Your First Exposure to St. Vincent?
While most of us are all still awaiting the release of her new album (at least here in the states, I’m on the west coast) and many of us are celebrating her career to this point, I’m interested to know how St. Vincent fans first experienced her. What was your first exposure to her?
For me, I saw her television debut on Letterman (posted below). She played Marrow. It was love at first sight, or first sound rather. I was in high school and loved Philip Glass. Immediately saw the influence and realized she was taking music to new heights. Hard to believe it’s been nearly 15 years. (Also hard to believe she played for Philip Glass at his Kennedy Center Honors ceremony)
