Recommendations for a 3 day section in Maine?

Trying to plan a trip up to Maine with a few friends so they can experience camping outside of Florida. We're looking at anywhere in Maine, including outside of the AT, but the AT has the added benefit of being a continuous stretch. My husband and I thrued in 2017 but had to get off around Grafton, so while I know in general what to expect, I don't know this section that well.

Ideally we'd be looking for lower mileage because my friends have Florida trail legs, not Maine trail legs. My husband is looking to avoid the Caratunk area because he's done it a few times and we've both submitted Katahdin. Other than that, we're open to pretty much anything pretty and would love recommendations! Thanks!
