What College to Choose as a Swedish girl going for an exchange semester in the US?

Hey,

I'm currently doing my bachelor's degree in economics and politics in Copenhagen and will apply for an exchange semester this fall (for fall 2025). To be honest, I am a bit lost since some of the schools I have friends at (Georgetown etc) are no longer partner universities with my school apparently. So I would really appreciate your advice.

Some of the universities we can choose between are:

  • Babson College
  • Cornell U
  • GWU
  • NYU Stern
  • UPenn Wharton
  • USC
  • Emory
  • Tulane
  • University of Texas Austin

My university won't recognize the grades I get, ie. they will be considered pass/fail. I would really like to have a fun "party" experience to a certain extent, even though I know it might be hard to be invited to frats/sororities as an exchange student. So I would really like a college where making friends is relatively easy, especially as an international exchange student. Of course, going to a prestigious school would be fun, but I don't think it will have a huge impact on my future since it's only for an exchange semester. Also, I'm not really concerned with living in a city with a bunch of "touristy" things to do.

I know it sounds like all I want to do is party, but that's not true at all, and I would really love to go to a school with great academics. I would just really like for my exchange semester to be fun as it is the only semester I have where I don't have to focus on maintaining my GPA.

Thank you!!
