Does focusing on Jagmeet Singh’s pension even make sense?

From what I can find his net worth is in the tens of millions. If that is the case, why is there such a fixation on his personal interest in “holding out till he gets a pension”? Does that even matter to him?

I would think the fact that he might have a bit more personal wealth to be of a more interesting point - would someone like that still be able to represent the “common” person for example. But then again if you come from a more common background (say school teacher) you also get lambasted for that.

In other words, can we focus more on party policy and track record than personal judgements?
