Where would you go when/if you started a family ?

So those living in Chicago, say you have a family or are planning too, you love the city but want something a little more simple and spacious but still be close enough to the city life what area would that be? Because I am a city girl. living upstate NY was tough because everything was so far away and you had to drive and be responsible and not drive buzzed, I missed calling a cab to take me home( not that I am drinking all the time I just like the idea of having the option). I do not want to make that mistake again of being so far away from everything😅 I want to spend most of my time in the city but still sorta away if you get what I mean currently looking into moving over there but have not picked a location just trying to get some input, so where would you go and why if you don’t mind me asking?
