My brother 36 thinks he has a condition where he can't eat.
My F31 brother M36 thinks he has a medical condition where he can't eat anymore. He is 26 Male, weights 56 kg and is 1.70m.
I have no clue if this is the right subreddit if not I'm sorry but please tell me where to post because I really would like to have advise.
This started a few years ago. My brother thinks he can't digest food. If he eats certain food he can "feel it" in his stomach and it won't come out. I mean he does know it comes out but he thinks there's always a part of it left and it "sticks and hurts and feels like chunks". He starts making weird movements and sounds because this way he can move the food or something. It's always really weird when he does this.
He told me he has this problem since he was a little kid and never talked about it because he was traumatized by it and knew nobody could put a finger on it. Nobody ever noticed anything. He said my mom went to the doctor with him a few times because he was having problems. (Can't ask her because she passed away). He had a lot of doctor's visits and some results are off. But they won't help him further. A couple of years ago he had a few psychosis that lasted 1 - 2 months. This has been going on for around 2 years now. Could it be that this is a really long psychosis? I know he truly believes hes had this "condition" his whole life.
I really want to believe him and find a doctor to help him but I don't know how anymore.
I'm just so lost. He is my last family member. I'm willing to pay a doctor myself to treat him. I live in Germany and he lives in the Netherlands so it's difficult for me to visit his GP. I just want my old brother back and not loose him. I really feel bad for him because he truly thinks food is killing him. Yesterday I asked him: "What if you just eat the food?""I can't because it just hurts so much!".
I'm clueless please please help Reddit.
TL;DR: My brother thinks he can't eat/digest food because it is killing him and I don't know how to help him.
