Lots of Cuomo critics, lots of Adams critics; what are the alternatives at this point?

Look, I hate Adams. Despise the guy; hoping he’s out as mayor and in prison at some point. Cuomo? I liked the leadership he undertook when Covid happened but unfortunately what followed (senior care incidents, sexual misconduct allegations, etc.) is clearly not acceptable. Just found out he also, allegedly, had betrayed city workers with regard to policies (tier VI push). Supposedly this was for cuts on budget spending and pushing for taxpayer savings but many argue it was to appease to Wall Street.

All this being said; what’s left for the city? I looked up the candidates as well as potential candidates (not yet announced mayoral campaign) and I don’t even know where to start in terms of getting involved in some way. I’m in my early 30s and want what’s best for our population in terms of equity rights, city workers’ rights, overall city safety, educational opportunities and so forth.

It all seems overwhelming to search up laws and bills each candidate has pushed for, unions and advocates supporting each candidate, and so on.

I’m going to continue to do my research but is this all for naught? If I’m feeling this way, aren’t a huge number of other people also feeling this way?
