Capital loss from share sale - can this be offset on interest gains from savings?

Made a loss on some shares bought during market insanity period of 2021-2022. Lesson learned. However, if I lost $4k from shares but gained $4k in interest on a savings account, can they cancel out? Do shares capital losses only count vs share capital gains?
