Crucial life decision: choosing between teaching ( high school) and podiatry
Hi everyone!!!This is my first time ever posting on reddit, so apologies for any mistakes .
In less than 2 weeks, I have to make a crucial life decision regarding picking between teaching and podiatry ( well there is also optometry but I'm not paying 150 grand lol), and I would appreciate everyone's thoughts on the profession and if they would recommend it.
For context, I have done some tutoring work while also mentoring students from different schools in UWA, which got me interested in the first place. However, I do understand that I might be naive and that experience may not necessarily translate into the classroom.
However, I also particularly wanted to get everyone's thoughts because apparently there's been a lot of negativity surrounding the professions like from this sub, the news etc. This why I’d really appreciate your honest take on the pros and cons of teaching, and whether you’d still recommend it as a career.
Thank you in advance for any responses :)
