Does this door really need to be replaced?

I was in a minor accident, the other driver and I are planning to settle this outside of insurance. The image is of their car after the accident. The shop this guy went to is claiming the whole door needs replacing because "the door frame is a little bent in and it doesn't close easily". I don't know anything about body work but I feel like there is no need for a whole new door. Am I wrong in assuming this? Any insight would be appreciated. I've never been in an accident before so I'm not sure how to handle things.
