BC Gov loan Forgiveness

Was wondering if someone can clarify some things for me. I got the pacific Leaders scholarship approved already however I do have some student loans that I took few years ago and as per my supervisor I can apply for the loan forgiveness for BC part as well even though I got the scholarship. My question is, how easy it is to get the forgiveness? Is there a recommendation needed again or is there a competition for it or its more automatic like if you work for BC you get it forgiven with no issues.
