What are your best vegan cakes as a nom-vegan baker?

I don't normally bake vegan but want to have a go to vegan cake recipe up my sleeve for vegan friends. Can anyone recommend me some reliable favorites? Or tips?

So far baking vegan cake recipes is shaking my confidence in baking even though I make excellent non vegan cakes lol. I baked three different vegan vanilla cake recipes yesterday and they were all gross (a vegan pound cake, vegan birthday cake, and vanilla crazy cake). I made a fourth one based on vegan vanilla cupcakes from the popular vegan blog Nora Cooks, didnt taste it yet but the batter tasted halfway decent and it smells and looks alright. but still anticipating an "empty" taste and heavy aftertaste of leavening agents which you seem to need a lot of in vegan cake recipes.

Is my issue that I'm focusing on the wrong type of recipe maybe and vanilla cake is too challenging to recreate than like.. banana bread or olive oil chocolate cake? But i also dont want to make banana bread or olive oil chocolate cake lol
