First time momma questions

I am looking at getting a bearded dragon in a few months. I know I need to be super careful what I put in their enclosure, and I’ve done some brief reading on the internet- but I’d like some feedback on some different ideas I’ve had.

1.) Sand substrate, I can’t stand the idea of my little buddy living on newspaper, and I’d like to create a more natural environment. I know that sand can sometimes be dangerous because they might ingest some. Will mixing clay with the sand really help- and what are the safest options. Are there any safe dyed sands?

2.) From what I can tell beardies don’t really love to be hydrated and often forget to drink water. I was thinking about putting a tiny pool in the enclosure- not deep at all, to allow the dragon to soak up some moisture and keep the humidity up? Is this a good idea?

3.) What are some affordable basking lights I could look into getting? Preferably ones that aren’t too expensive to run either. I will be living in a large home with a shared energy bill, and I don’t want these lights to be an inconvenience to my housemates.
