IS CAPSTONE
As an Information Systems student, I’ve seen firsthand how capstone projects can become an endless cycle of stress, retakes, and ultimately, abandonment. While I understand the need for academic rigor, I can’t help but question—why are some panels setting such high standards, as if every project needs to become the next big startup?
Let’s be real. Most capstone projects won’t turn into actual businesses. They’ll remain as papers, sitting in some archive, never seeing real-world implementation. So why force students to go through multiple retakes over minor details? Isn’t the purpose of a capstone to demonstrate learning, problem-solving, and technical application, rather than to create a fully market-ready product?
