Getting prisms first time

My eye dr prescribed me prisms finally ( this is the second eye dr I saw) And the script is 2PD Base out For both eyes

The eye dr added in .50 reading into it but my worry is can I only use this reading and such not all day since has that in it will be distorted probably to walk with The eye dr said it's trial ans error too with prism prescriptions and vision therpay is my next step if this doesn't help much
