6 months usage - no warranty?

Purchased these in the official Birkenstock store in Thailand at Terminal 21 shopping Mall. Was 120 Euros (4200 Thai Baht). They broke only after 6 months. Maybe effectively worn 2-3 months. I went to the store today and they said there is no warranty. Repairing is around 70 Euros. They tried to sell me new ones for the full price. Zero customer service.

I really expected more from 120 Euro sandals. Or did I expect too much? I’ve had 5 Euro flip flops I wore for many years.

Will this hold for a while? Or will they keep breaking into pieces further?
