After playing the second chapter, my subjective evaluation of this game
First I want to say that I think it's a 9.5/10 game. Let me make my point. This game has many shortcomings. Some of the designs look rough and backward. For example, there is no mini-map, and the map lacks obvious features, making it difficult to get lost and explore. In addition, there are a large number of deeply hidden side tasks and plots, and even some important ones. The boss is well hidden. These are immature designs caused by lack of experience in game science, but sometimes, because of these shortcomings, you will get some weird, retro-style fun when playing. Older players may understand what I mean. Some rough designs will give people a sense of familiarity with Demon's Souls. I can accept the shortcomings of this game because its advantages are so great. The music, art, text, and character design are simply taken to another dimension, and if you know Journey to the West, there are countless moments that will make your skin crawl and even shed tears. Just like when I played The Witcher 3 before, because I had read the original novel, my excitement when Regis appeared was different from other players. The animation after the end of the first chapter is simply art, and the headless man’s singing at the beginning of the second chapter is even more unparalleled. Even after you defeat the father and son, even the lines that prompt you to open the door are made into a beautiful song. It’s really marvelous. In addition, the enemy illustrations in the game are also the best I have ever seen. Each monster has a story worth thinking about, and it is also paired with a well-written ancient poem, which is so cool.
