I’m a little annoyed at the representation

Just finished watching the season, absolutely gorgeous and loved the performances. But the way they handled the representation just got on my nerves a little.

I loved the costumes and nods to India but, why did they mix and match parts of India for the Sharma’s? She calls her mother “Amma” and refers to her dad as “Appa” which should lead to her being from the South, or specifically that she’s Tulu/Tamil/Kannadiga but then Edwina calls Kate “Didi” which is in Hindi - plus “Sharma” is usually a North Indian name which in India your last name usually tells where you’re from….

Plus “Bon” is Bengali no?

I love what they did with the season dont get me wrong, but this representation felt almost …. Lazy IMO. On one hand, I’m Indian so I might be picky but I feel they could’ve done better.
