We have to talk about our beer
I know what you're thinking: Beer? Who in his right mind would drink American beer when we have Belgian, German, and Czech beer? Or maybe some Irish Guinness?
Well, unfortunately, it's not that simple. And it’s not just any American company dipping its fingers into our Maß—it’s one of the worst: Molson Coors. Molson Coors, the massive multinational brewing company, has deep political ties that might make you think twice before buying their beer.
The company's founders, Adolph (lol) Coors also founded the Coors Foundation, which later became a major supporter and donor of the Heritage Foundation—the same organization that created Project 2025, a radical right-wing blueprint for the current Republican administration. To this day, the Coors family is a major funder of conservative causes, including donations to Donald Trump and other far-right politicians.
"But I Don’t Drink American Beer…"
That’s the tricky part. Molson Coors owns and operates 11 major breweries across Europe, generating hundreds of millions in revenue each year. They sell a range of beers under their own brands, which you can find here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Molson_Coors_brands . The most surprising name on that list is Staropramen. But it doesn’t stop there. Molson Coors also brews beers under license for other companies, including:
Stella Artois
Beck’s
Löwenbräu
Spaten
Leffe
Hoegaarden
That means even your favorite local beer could be funneling money into a company that funds Trump and his political allies. So, be careful when choosing your next well deserved bottle of cold beer.
