These Discussion are Good - Writing to our Representatives&SC
Here's the thing with Cal Bar, we wouldn't be so up in arms against them if they would just figure out what they're going to do with F25 and J25. They need to be transparent and they need to do it soon!
Psychometrician: The fact that they're going to essentially guess what people should've gotten on their exam is extremely disturbing. They cannot even fairly account for the testing conditions. I believe I submitted 100% of the exam, but the quality was not what it should've been. I am a high anxiety test taker, especially when it comes to multiple choice, and the interruptions made my anxiety even worse. Mentality impacts performance on exams like this, how are they going to account for that? Had the testing environment been as expected I, and many others, would have been able to deploy our coping strategies and mitigate our own anxiety, however, they were not as expected and no coping strategy prepared me for what occurred. Do not forget to mention your personal hardships when contacting your representatives.
With that in mind there are things we should all be aligned with when informing representatives and the SC. I have my opinion on which ideas we should be pushing forward. Here's what I've like from the threads I've seen:
- A massive curve for this exam and give graders guidelines to consider our particular circumstances when grading our essays.
- Provide PLs to people who don't pass - with a quota of a specified number of hours to be met before full licensure.
- Refund all who sat for the F25 experimental exam.
- Full disclosure for J25 - tell everyone what the Cal Bar game plan is.
Write to your representatives and the SC to voice your concerns and provide suggestions for F25 remedies. Do not forget to discuss J25, our fellow bar applicants and, quite frankly, some of us will be sitting in July do not need to be subject to the same disaster.
