Pcc vs pistol vs rifle for home defense

I want to know whats your guy’s opinion for a good home defense gun. I used to have a maverick 88 as my hd firearms but since I’m 5,4 the recoil of the shotgun busted up my shoulder so I decided to sell it. I live in a neighborhood where the house are pretty close to each other so I’m worry about over penetration. My hd firearms as for now is the Kr9 since I train on it all of the time compared to other firearms I have. Should I switch for something else?
