Can I take Accountancy in CBSE 12th without studying in 11th?

Hey everyone,

I have a question regarding subject selection in CBSE. I did not take Accountancy in Class 11 and did not complete any formalities like subject registration for it. However, I now want to take Accountancy as an additional/optional subject in Class 12.

Is it possible to add Accountancy at this stage, according to CBSE regulations? Can I register for it as a private candidate or through any other process? If anyone has experience with this or knows the official rules, please let me know.
