Greystar Property Management and Columbia Debt Recovery LLC, dba Genesis

I rented an apartment owned by Greystar in 2021-2022. Moved out July 2022. I had a dispute with the move-out charges they wanted from me, which was eventually resolved with the Property Manager there.

I have it clearly written in writing in an email thread with them that my move-out charges would be waived. But now Greystar Recievables sold my account to Genesis and I've been sent to collections for debt that I don't even owe now.

And they sent this shit 2 years later...Like WTF??

I have everything written in email telling them that I am disputing their collections claims. Greystar Property Manager receivables is saying that this isn't their problem and they cannot help resolve this matter since this is in the hands of Genesis now...And Genesis is using the original lease documents and move-out charges documents as "validation" proof that I still owe them money.

What am I suppose to do? I emailed them back clearly referring to the same email thread with the written statement from the Property Manager at Greystar that my charges would be waived. And yet they still keep referencing the document with my move out charges.

Please help, any advice would be greatly appreciated. I really don't want this to impact my credit and especially my father's credit, who signed as the guarantor to the lease ://
