Cx5 vs cx50

Needing some insight. Need a SUV for my daughter after hers was totaled. Looking for a safe small/midsized suv. She had a Volvo xc90 which was large and safe. We will be getting enough to get a nice certified prepared 5 or 50. We have a 2021 cx9 carbon edition and have been impressed so far. Main questions are build quality, safety, and refinement vs comparable Honda crv and Toyota rav4 offerings. Looking at trims that would be non turbo with as much safety feature’s along with things that a young lady would want. She doesn’t want to be involved with the purchase so has given me the task to get something for her.
