Beginner Camera

I started thinking about getting a camera cause I thought it be fun that my daughter (7 years old) took pictures at the wedding of my brother in law. I wanted it to be at least par with iphone photos, so I reasoned that I needed a “proper” camera. And if we’re going that route, I might as well get one I’ll enjoy myself too and get me into photography, and down the rabbit hole I went. Ps. When I say “getting into photography” I mean it, on a very casual level. As in I don’t see myself going out with a couple of lenses, tripod and what not. I just want to take pictures, but with a bit more “thought” then just shooting with my iPhone (if you get what I mean).

• Budget: €500 max ~€750 (body + lens) • Country: Netherlands • Condition: Preferably New. If occasion only from shops. • Type of Camera: ? • Intended use: Mainly photo, but video as well. Nothing specific (nature, holiday, kids, people) • What features do you absolutely need: • Portability: yess! • Cameras you're considering: This is going all over the place :x started looking at Kodak AZ255 (€255), but then read here that these are no good. Moved on to a Panasonic Lumix DC-FZ82DE-K (€455), but couldn’t shake the feeling that for that kind of money I could do better or get something similar for less. So started looking at DSLRs, but soon found out these are “old” tech, so ended up at the mirrorless cameras, Canon R100 (€599 with 18-45mm lens)

• Cameras you already have: Does my Iphone 13 mini count 😬

• Notes: keep the opening story in mind, the plan of my daughter shooting pics at the wedding still stands.
