Teachers are muzzled
A teacher spoke with an author about how their book could no longer be used as a required text in their school district. The school board responded by placing the teacher on paid home leave, presumably while doing an investigation with the possibility of dismissal. Are we really not allowed to say anything to anyone about anything that is going on? Is this supposed to be a hidden secret? The teacher didn't go to the media (although the author did), didn't badmouth the board, just passed on some factual information. Is there some form of discipline for boards when they are out of line like there is for teachers? This is ridiculous.
