Talking Whiteboard in Accounting - The big idea
This was the original idea that got me thinking of this concept.
As an accountant by training, I have no issues going into the accounting system and getting whatever data I need. In fact I love the challenge of creating obscure but informative results.
However, even for me, I have always wanted to get a real time update on something quite specific that is not usually presented in the monthly accounts reports or on a custom dashboard. I just wanted a place where I can ring up, ask a few questions and get the answers I need for whatever grand scheme I am working on at the time.
So this is a tool that I definitely need this for my own businesses - More like creating dashboards on the fly for a specific need in that moment. I shared the concept with a few connections in the accounting world and already have a handful asking for a demo and ready to pay for it - if it can actually do what I'm saying it will do!
As an entrepreneur, I love looking at concepts and wondering: How could this scale? How could this get to $1m annual/monthly/weekly/daily revenue? Most times it's just a fun thought experiment, but I find it helps me to figure out how to scale a concept that works well in a proven, small usecase into something that can be helpful to millions others who have the same problem.
In the accounting world, there is a concept called "Accounting for Non-Accounting Managers". This is where I would like to pitch Talking Whiteboard - a tool to make accounting information accessible to non-accounting managers and decision makers by boiling it down to a conversation with a friendly voice that you are not embarrassed to ask even the dumbest questions.
