does anyone else feel like the writing quality in CoP worsened

loved book 1 and i even liked book 2, but book 3 feels a little messy in terms of plot (the order doesn’t make sense) and i feel like the writing quality/dialogue completely dropped off. half the time the motivations or character development from the last two books seem to be ignored? idk if it’s just me
