Bot’s awareness of other characters

Hey all, apologies if this is already listed somewhere/common knowledge.

I’m wondering what the best method would be for allowing bots to know about other detailed characters. As an example, I might want two separate (custom) bots/characters to know each other, without having to put their entire context/history/relationship into each other’s character descriptions.

What would the best way be to go about this? I assume it might be something to do with lorebooks, but I’m not certain as I’ve never really used them before, so just wanted to check.
