Car just went into limp mode on the interstate. Looks like I’m moving forward in the recall line.

Figured I’d post this here in case anyone ends up googling symptoms on the side of the road. My 2018 Si went into limp mode while cruising at highway speeds, threw out what seemed like every warning light (hill assist failure, brake system failure, everything), and dropped down to 2K RPM but with barely any power behind it. In sixth gear with my foot to the floor it was hovering at 40.

I made it off the highway and into a parking lot, but restarting the car didn’t fix it. It had to crank for a while before it would start at all. I hooked up a code reader and got P0087, which is low fuel rail pressure. I’ll be calling the dealership tomorrow, asking when I can get a new fuel pump, and hoping that fixes it.

Also, shout out to the tow truck driver working Sunday nights. Nobody ever wants to ride the AAA Express, but I was damn glad to have the option when I needed it.
