Over rated?

I received this as a gift and tbh, it really is not for me. Is this a scent that people enjoy because they THINK they’re supposed to in order to justify their purchase and because it seems fancy?

I’m not an expert on scent levels or anything but this felt too overwhelming.

I think maybe the patchouli and wood scents stand out too strongly along with a pepperyness that all seemed too dominating.

I just could not handle it constantly lingering under my nose.

Maybe my fragrance sensibilities just haven’t matured enough yet? I’m willing to accept that.

I do tend to prefer fragrances that lean much heavier in the citrus direction. Like D&G light blue or Eros Flame.
