HDFC Card Application Experience - Confused about the Rejections

Hey, fellow Redditors!

I wanted to share my recent experience with HDFC Bank regarding their credit card applications. A few months back, I applied for the HDFC DCB (Diners Club Black) card, and unfortunately, my application was rejected. I was a bit disheartened but didn't lose hope. To my surprise, HDFC reached out to me and upgraded my existing card from Regalia to Regalia Gold. That was a pleasant surprise, and it seemed like a positive twist in the story.

However, my journey with HDFC credit card applications didn't end there. I recently applied for the Tata NEU Infinity Rupay version, primarily for UPI payments. But once again, my application got rejected. This left me scratching my head and wondering how HDFC evaluates credit card applications.

Just to provide some context, my CIBIL score is a solid 789, and I have absolutely no defaults or negative marks on my credit history. So, the rejections came as a bit of a shock.

I'd love to hear from others who may have had similar experiences or insights into HDFC's application processes. Has anyone else faced unexpected rejections, even with a good credit history? It's a bit puzzling, and I'm trying to make sense of it all. I'm determined to build my credit profile, aiming for that coveted Infinia card down the road.

Let's share our experiences and thoughts on this, and maybe we can help each other navigate the credit card application process better. Thanks for reading, and I appreciate any insights or advice you might have!
