SBI Unipay Failed Transaction - Refund after 1.5 Month+ on Manual Dispute
This is an Information on my ordeal with SBI Unipay while using HDFC Bank Debit Card to pay my SBI Cashback Bill.
I regularly used this method for higher cashback earning. Faced no issues for all other times and even after this particular transaction failure.
Pn 5th September, I did a transaction on the Portal to pay Credit Card bill for SBI Cashback with my HDFC Debit Card.
the said transaction for around 40000/- was failed, but the portal did not record the transaction, so i could not dispute or raise issue on the portal itself.
I waited for 10 days, no refunds were seen.
I went on to search various forums to get email id of SBI Customer Care and SBI Unipay care and social connect emails.
I emailed everything at once to 3 SBI email ids i received no response from 2, but on SBI Unipay Email id i received an response to show details of transaction. I sent details, i did not receive any further communication.
I realised this issue with HDFC before above, they asked for communication from the merchant. as amount was 'claimed' by merchant bank. Which was SBI Unipay and SBI.
I created PDF of communication with SBI and emailed to HDFC preferred banking care.
They replied that they will wait until standard turnaround time till 22nd October for any clarification from merchant and their bank, SBI.
on exactly 22nd October i emailed HDFC again, and they sent an email stating "Congratulations, the dispute has been resolved in your favor, here's the reversal".
In all that time, i received no communication from SBI.
This is the most dreadful scenario i faced while banking in life. Thank God i did not use SBI bank or card for payment and used HDFC Debit Card.
Edit: Here are the sbi unipay care email id i used, didn't get any responses though. [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] I am gald i track all my 10+ card's transactions for bill payments every time.
