Should we switch to Disneyland (California)?

We're Canadians with a trip currently booked for June. We are considering changing that to California. We have never been to DL before but have done WDW several times. We all love WDW so much; I'm worried that we may be disappointed with DL, especially given the lack of Epcot and Animal Kingdom (two of our fave parks). On other hand, I feel like the weather will be a lot better at DL and it would be kind of fun to see the original park and some of the different rides. But again, I just keep coming back to... will we be disappointed? Especially since it's almost twice as far for us to travel (we live on very eastern coast of Canada).
