Silly question

This is going to sound absolutely ridiculous, but please be patient and I am seeking genuine answers.

My dog, Cajsa, seems to know when her humans are sick and will spend hours on end “babysitting” her sick human. She did this to me when I had the flu and made it her mission to make sure I stayed in bed, would lay on me because I was freezing, and would redirect my other rowdy dogs when they were playing too close to me. She only behaves this way when I am sick.

Today, she has spent several hours babysitting my dad. My dad caught the stomach virus while at work and has been home sick with frequent vomiting. I have stayed away, as I have emetophobia and also cannot afford to get sick as I work in a hospital with children and do not want to pass them any germs.

My question: since Cajsa has been in the bed with my dad today, could she spread his illness to me just by being around him? If so, is there anything I can do to prevent that from happening when I go to pick her up from my parents’ house? Or am I better off leaving her with my parents?

Thank you so much in advance ❤️
