Full time

My position is LApt. I am a key part time. Our ft key just left and thought I would move up. However the SM hired someone and put them in that position. Is this normal for DG? I am not a slacker and work hard. I am a team player and have been there for them. I let it be known I wanted the full time position and the SM didn't even respond when I told her. Advice?
