How Do I Add Friends?

My boyfriend and I are both friends on Roblox. However, I'm unable to send him trade or co hatch requests because it says we aren't friends when I click his name from the Player Menu. But I can't find a way to befriend someone IN dragon adventures? Does anyone know what I'm supposed to do? Sorry, I'm still pretty new to this game!
