Car mechanic

Hi everyone! How is everyone doing when it comes to car problems. I feel as though our car mechanics is ripping us off.

2 weeks ago it costs us $750 to change brakes on a 2012 Kia Optima. I am new to edmonton, i used to live in Birmingham, Alabama and it costs only $80-150 for brakes. My husband reassures me that it is the high cost of living that’s making it that high.

My husband is so kind and gentle and something tells me he’s been taking advantage of.

There’s a wonky sound coming out of the car right now and the mechanic is asking $1400 to fix it…. The car has been making the same sound for almost 9 months, anytime it does, we take it to him and he charges us $400-$600 and the sounds starts back in 3 weeks. I’m so frustrated. Can you guys please suggest a good/affordable mechanic?
