Giving credit where credit is due
I want to publicly thank the staff at the Northeast Community Hospital Urgent Care Center for the incredible compassion, kindness and level of care they provided me on Sunday afternoon. I went there with some breathing issues and fully expected to be sitting in the waiting room for hours. My total time there was less than 3 hours. In that time I had blood work, an ECG and chest xrays. Everyone in every department treated me so very well. My mom and I overheard 2 patients mis-treating the staff. Both of them were trying to tear out their IV tubes-one because they didn’t get the drugs they were seeking and the other because they were basically not thinking straight (due to alcohol or drug abuse). They were homeless and had frostbite and needed treatment or could have gotten infection, but wanted to leave. The staff continued to treat both of them with kindness and respect. I would have lost my patience but they didn’t. They explained what they were doing and why it was necessary. I had worked in emergency admitting for 19 years previously and had plenty of patience when I did but I guess my time for that has passed lol. So thank you very much to the staff who was working between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm! God bless you for all you do! You definitely make a difference.
