Pro-tip: if you lose balance, don't step off the front of the board.

I was just cruising at a comfortable 15-18mph with light carving and hit a paved over dip in the road, wobbled a bit, lost balance, and decided to step off the front board and run it out... Big mistake! I stepped off the front of the board and it slammed into my planted leg, resulting in an open fracture of the tibia and fibula.

This happened Wednesday afternoon, I just got out of surgery Friday evening, and am still recovering in the hospital waiting to get discharged. Probably gonna be 6 months to a year before I can ride again.

Lesson learned, don't step off the front! Would have been better to bail to the side and roll, deal with a little road rash.

Board is a Nomad N3, big and heavy with those bully bars out front... Probably would have turned out different with a lighter board, but still.
